Mike Bossio is awarded ‘Certificate of Appreciation’
December 16 | Posted by Jeff | The Leaky Land BlogAs a consequence of his new responsibilities as a Member of Parliament Mike has had to tender his recognition as Chairman. The concerned Citizens’ Committee has awarded him with a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ to recognize his hard work on behalf of our community. Under his leadership, the Concerned Citizens have steadfastly thwarted two proposals to expand the Richmond Landfill to mega-dump size. He has exposed efforts to hide the significant off-site impacts of the now closed dump. Mike has made a point of working closely with the municipalities of Tyendinaga, Greater Napanee, Deseranto, Belleville and the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. He has strategized with the outstanding environmental lawyer Rick Lindgren and worked closely with the best technical experts Wilf Ruland and Poh-Gek Fohkert. His team has successfully completed massive fund-raising campaigns, communication programs and exhaustive technical reviews. The Certificate of Appreciation said “For his outstanding leadership and steadfast commitment to preserving our environment and our community”
