It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Mary Lynne Sammon. She has been at the heart and soul of the Citizens Group from the beginning. A creative and lateral thinker, a dedicated worker, and a principled team member, she will be greatly missed.

Chief R. Don Maracle of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte said:

“I enjoyed my many conversations with Mary Lynne Sammon and always admired her spirit of determination and loyalty to the cause.
On behalf of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, I extend my condolences to Mary Lynne’s family. Her passing is a great loss for all here but she will continue the fight from the spirit world to do what is right.

May her family be surrounded and comforted by God’s love and peace.”

Mike Bossio, Chairman of the Concerned Citizens said:

“Mary Lynne played a huge role in our organization and will be sorely missed. She had a good life, she lived it to the fullest, and had a positive impact on anyone with whom she came in contact. She always tried to bring out the best in all around her and she had an incredible determination to do the right thing because it was the right thing to do. Even when some may not have agree with her position, none ever questioned her motives.

Anyone of us will have lived a blessed life if we can even come close to measuring up to the sacrifice and genuine concern she showed for her fellow man, her community and all those around her.

We will miss you Mary Lynne, but we all know that you are in a far better place and will be one more angel helping to guide us to do better, be better, and continue to fight the good fight!”
